WHAT THE WHAT?! Rihanna's moving away from the dark & R-rated side and moving into a more playful and dance driven one.  Though we can't yet confirm this, rumor has it that Who's That Chick is predicted to be her second single from her upcoming new album Loud.  We've been playing Only Girl (In the World) non-stop but this one may take its current spot on rotation!  Leave your comments!


Update!  Rihanna has broken the news herself via twitter that this is not for her upcoming album but rather, a Doritos commercial.  Throw it on the bonus tracks to Loud, you won't regret it RiRi!

Reliving the Moment: Another new series we are going to feature on the blog are moments we just have to relive again and again and again!  Our contributors are going to get personal and emotional...and they may even cry (or make you cry in the process).  At the very least, they'll jog your memory with some of the best moments in music history.

Amazing.  Melissa Etheridge and Joss Stone paying tribute to Janis Joplin at the 2005 Grammys. This was Melissa's first public appearance since being diagnosed with breast cancer 6 months prior. While still bald from chemo she strutted her stuff on stage as if screaming to the world, 'I will not let this define me.' Following suite, she gave a performance that will clearly go down in history as one of the best Grammy moments of all time. This was true women empowerment at it's finest. It gave new meaning to the lyrics I'm gonna show you, baby, that a woman can be tough. Keep on rockin' girl.

And with that said, THIS should be her next single!  Don't Ever Leave Me has an awesome dance hook, yet at the same time is an upbeat ballad.  It has the same appeal that Shontelle's Perfect Nightmare has - and definitely one for the Hot 100!  I can see this one being remixed by the great Dave Aude.

Download: Ed Sheeran's cover of "Last Ones Standing"

One thing the US lacks are male pop stars.  Did you notice the ladies were dominating the VMA's on Sunday?  If we could only get the UK to export some of their male talent here.  Supporting act to Brit rapper Example for his upcoming UK tour, Ed Sheeran has covered Last Ones Standing.  According to Example himself, there wasn't enough room left on his LP to put this on there so he's offered it up to his fans via his website.  I have a feeling this isn't the last we've heard about Ed!  Click on the down arrow to download this incredible cover!

Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" is finished!

At her concert in Philly Tuesday night, Lady Gaga announced that her third studio album, Born This Way, is finished.  Though we won't be seeing a release until sometime in 2011 but she tells us "I've never worked on anything harder in my life."  The new album is expected to be much more positive and less dark then her previous, The Fame Monster.

Bootsy Collins "Play With Bootsy"

Bootsy Collins and Kelli Ali (of the Sneaker Pimps) pile on the autotune with this ridiculous and wonderful futuristic neo-funk disco tune. Lyrical highlights include Shake your heavenly body and Time to play with Bootsy/Interstellar love machine. The bass wiggles in a great way and Kelli Ali sounds appropriately android-ified.  You'll probably love it.
