Waking up this morning is best described by a recent chat with a close friend: Well Good Morning Hateful! Monday has once again shown us its ugly face and with the 66+ degree weather in San Francisco, it's really trying to piss us off! The downside to living in the Bayside of California is that we don't get snow days. I think they need to introduce Sun Days to the working class citizens - I think that's only fair. At least there's Martin Solveig's Hello to give us that zing we need to get us to Tuesday. You may be sitting at your desk right now and wishing you hadn't tipped back so many damn bottomless mimosas yesterday at brunch. Right now, you may be feeling like a polka band won't stop playing around in your head, as if they are trying to get outta your skull. I figured it'd be wise to take things down a few notches from the dance & electronic songs that have been flooding Wonky Pop these days and start Monday off on a softer note. Though my head is okay, I know I'll be throwing back water today like it's my job.
Featured in the first episode of this seasons Grey's Anatomy (during the wedding ceremony), Amy Stroup's Backed Into the Corner is a chilled out, perfect hangover healing song. Besides acting as an aspirin alternative, it's also a beautifully written song.
Back to reality after spending a few days in Katy Perry's hometown, Santa Barbara. Why can't we just have 4 day work weeks all the time?

Though I've featured this song, it deserves to be posted again - cause it's such a feel good song. Puts a grin on my face like I just sniffed glue. It's a definite top 3 of 2010. It's only 10:30AM and already fecal matter has hit the fan. Is it a bad sign that during your first 2 hours of work, you could throw your fist thru your computer monitor? Possibly. I must be suffering from a COTHM (Case of the Mondays). There's really no need to go into further detail as to why I may end up with a bloody fist this morning, and I really don't want to damage my pretty LED MacBrook Pro monitor. Fortunately, there is music to get me thru this day and hopefully, speed up time.
I've exposed you to a lot of pop music over the past few weeks, and as I mentioned on Friday, it's time to switch it up a bit. Though I still have plenty of auto-tuned, girl bands and the like to share with you, here's the new single from a well-known rock band of the 90's, Jimmy Eat World. I was so excited when I found out they were releasing a new album(due out 9/28) and this song really kicks ass. This should help your Monday.
