This is awfully familiar

The trailer for Christina Aguilera's first major film Nine Burlesque has been released today.  And it needs to go back to the vault!  Xtina, you're really letting us down.  Failed album, and now this?  I had much higher hopes.  The dialogue, plot and climax are all too predictable.  Connie & Carla had a more interesting plot than this!  Bionic (great album in my opinion, despite critics hated it).  It's time that you fire your PR team.  They suck!  Burlesque (ugh).  Fail.

This is even too much for me.

Katy Perry, what were you thinking?  Thank God you dropped this song from your first album.  I get it, you have a sense of humor.  Now it all becomes clear as to why your getting married to this guy.

Eminem & Rihanna = TMRW!

Rihanna & Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" will be premiering tomorrow on MTV.  Wow, I guess they still play the occasional music video after all.  To date, this is my favorite song for 2010.  Powerful.  Painful.  Constant replay.  Controversial.  Love.  Can't wait for the video!

This week's Album you can't live without

Though her 7th studio album has just been released a few weeks ago, nothing beats Sheryl Crow's "Tuesday Night Music Club."  Her most recent single "Summer Day" is starting to grow on me (sidenote: she looks incredible in this video).  Though TNMC's first single "Run Baby Run" didn't do so well on the charts, "All I Wanna Do" opened the door for Ms. Crow to make her mark in the music industry.  My ultimate favorite on the album is "I Shall Believe."  The lyrics of this song rip at my heart in such a way that I wanna laugh, cry and sing all at the same time.  It was also covered by one of my favorite singer-songwriters, Matt Brouwer.  Both versions are total tear jerkers, especially if you're in that kinda mood.  Other great songs on the album include "Leaving Las Vegas," "Strong Enough" and "No One Said It Would Be Easy."

Justin Bieber can stick it!

Though I have a severe hatred of Justin Bobblehead, I will let that go for this cover. THIS is why I love The Saturdays.  A girl group that can harmonize, without Autotune and even play a guitar?  Hell yes.  And Rochelle Wiseman's voice stands out above the rest.  Gotta love her.  Unfortunately Mollie was sick the day they filmed this.

Introducing...Margo

Gem & the Holograms, move on out - Margo is on the scene!  This 80's throwback rocker has released her first single "I Call the Shots."  The video is a true reflection of Gem's rocking babes and the aerobics of the 80's.  It has a nice Gwen Stefani sound from her days with No Doubt and Pat Benatar's attitude.  Not much else is known about this singer - her website is pretty quiet with just this single & links to her twitter/facebook.  I guess we'll have to stay tuned for more....

Secondhand Serenade

You can definitely sense The Fray's influence on this new single from the man who calls himself "Secondhand Serenade."  The first single from John Veseley, this one was made for Top 50 Billboard.  It has a more pop-friendly feel to it, and to me, I can hear influences of One Republic, Five for Fighting and even Dashboard Confessional.  I am not saying that these are at all bad things, but, I do miss the more heart-throbbing wrist-cutting edge that SHS usually showcases in his songs.  Though, I will say, his new album at first listen still has a few singles that are perfect for those rainy-i-got-dumped-days (or in the case of Veseley, getting divorced after only 2 years -- listen to "A Twist In My Story").  All in all, his new album will be one that will probably be seeing a few replays in my iTunes.  It releases nationwide tomorrow.
